but there's an opening, a clearing, and to their astonished eyes
a sage sat amid a sea of candlewick aflame meditating
they whirled around in fear
to see the door had disappeared
opened his old wise eyes
my peace was agonized
there's a price that must be paid, you shouldn't have crossed me

threatened by a daunting mystery
what could it be?
